At 6 o'clock in the morning the 6th of February 1960, on the way back home from a long night spent playing and singing in a night club,Fred Buscaglione died in a street of Rome crashing his pink Ford Thunderbird.
Fred was only 39 years old when he left his fans at the apex of his career, after penning and singing some of the most unforgettable Italian songs, becoming, in the like of a James Dean or MarilynMonroe, an instant myth for the past and future generations.
His gangster yet romantic looks , depicting a world of Pin ups, cigarettes, whiskey and night clubs, was going to become a great sensation, not just for an italian public but also for a larger and international audience.
Songs like Guarda che luna, i found my love in Portofino, Eri Piccola or Buonasera Signorina, became the perfect soundtrack of those Dolce Vita's years when Italy was coming out from the horror of World War II and was slowly starting a new era experiencing a growing economical boom. Frank Conforti has grown up with Fred as his Hero, and with his band ,the jazz sextet "AsterDaisy",will try to bring you back to those magical and wonderful times for an amazing and unforgettable night of swinging and crooning at House of Nine.
